“I have caged myself because of my cautions. I shackled myself with fear throughout life and told myself false truths that there’s freedom while being in bondage. Yet, once I reached my thirties, I found that the imprisonment I had created for myself prevented me from experiencing the lessons, blessings, and overall self-development, and stalled my own evolution.

At times, I still feel stuck in girlhood, waiting for someone else to grant me access to adulthood, even as I step into my thirties.

However, the longer I stand at the door, amused by the lights that frame it, I realize I have to open the door on my own.”

This space is for every late bloomer—whether you’ve just decided, or are still considering, letting yourself take root and truly live. Taking hold of your own life is scary, but it’s never too late to begin evolving.

I’m starting by allowing myself to experience life as an experiment—doing things that challenge my comfort zone and moving forward, even when I’m afraid.

There will be an enormous number of first times that will match the tears and hyperventilating I will be doing along the journey. I will be learning and relearning, undoing and reinviting, and existing in the present.
